Sigh

It’s a good thing I took Monday off. S, M, saxman and I made plans to meet up at seven at the Brass Taps Pizza Pub on College Street. I was fashionably late, of course, arriving at 7:30. (Not really, I told M I’d probably be a little late.) It was so great to be sitting next to saxman in person after an entire summer of pining away… The four of us had a really good time, drinking Strongbows and talking and laughing. At one point both S and M went to use to washroom at the same time, and when they returned our conversations stayed separate for a little while. Eventually it was time to leave so I said, “Whoever needs a ride home can hop in.” So everyone got into the car, S and M in the back, and I dropped them off first. When we got to saxman’s street, I sort of parallel-parked, and then we just kept on chatting. We talked for four hours, there in the car, until 5:30 in the morning. What did we talk about? Everything. Toronto, New York, September 11, ship stuff, family, university, music… It was wonderful.
