100 Things about Me

I hope Brian doesn’t mind my piggybacking on his idea, again. I drew up this list in all of about 15 minutes, so I think the 101st thing would be that I like to make lists of things about myself.

1. I have always wanted to visit New York City.
2. I run Outlook Express on my computer at work while I also run regular Outlook so that I can have hotmail delivered instantly to my desktop.
3. The only good “reality t.v.” out there is Survivor.
4. My longest serious relationship with a guy lasted roughly a year and a half.
5. It was my birthday in 1986 the day the Challenger exploded.
6. I love to cook with garlic.
7. I think the kitchen is a room that ideally should be suited for gatherings of friends.
8. My favourite alcoholic beverage is Strongbow Cider.
9. I have a square bookcase in my livingroom.
10. I am learning to garden, and my thumb is turning green.
11. I have been to London, England.
12. I own my own car, after leasing it for 6 years.
13. I have a thing for musicians.
14. My best friend is a guy.
15. I’m thinking about entering the “work at home” program.
16. I lived on a cruise ship for four months.
17. I am into Astrology.
18. When I visit a bookstore I check out the New Age, Music, and Travel sections, usually in that order.
19. I’ve been to see the following musicians/bands in concert: Belinda Carlisle, the Barenaked Ladies (twice), Huey Lewis & the News, Anne Murray, Sting, the Eagles, Blue Rodeo, Dave Matthews Band (twice), Sarah McLachlan (twice), Sloan, David Usher, Depeche Mode, Alanis Morisette, Our Lady Peace, 54-40, Big Wreck, Spirit of the West, Jim Cuddy, the Tea Party, Natalie Merchant, Liz Phair, the Lowest of the Low, the Violent Femmes, Rose Chronicles and Coldplay.
20. I am a fan of Woody Allen.
21. I’ve eaten ostrich and moose.
22. I hate hypocrites.
23. I like my house to be clean.
24. I’m an Aquarian.
25. I have recently shed all of the weight I gained going to university.
26. I have a degree in English.
27. I went to the University of Western Ontario, in London, Ontario, Canada.
28. I used to want to be a Paleontologist.
29. My favourite show on television these days is still “Friends”.
30. My roommate is a lesbian.
31. I am getting to know my city better every day.
32. I haven’t been home to Oshawa in over a month.
33. I haven’t eaten any fast food, with the exception of pizza, in five months.
34. I am learning to be patient.
35. I like things organized.
36. I used to try to get out of gym class in public school.
37. I don?t say “aboot”.
38. I listen to music all day at work.
39. I know how to fix stuff.
40. I think that some people see me as unapproachable.
41. I’ve never been up the CN Tower.
42. I am going to start doing Yoga.
43. The idea of having a baby is starting to appeal to me.
44. One of my best friends from high school had twins two days ago.
45. I have a dinner date tonight.
46. The guy who rang my groceries through last night gave me a candle for free because it wouldn’t scan properly.
47. I can’t skate backwards.
48. I am looking forward to the start of the NHL hockey season. (Go Leafs!)
49. I think Garry Vaulk is good-looking.
50. My portrait is being painted and I’m wearing a pair of shorts and a sports bra for it.
51. My alarm clock is eight minutes fast.
52. I am currently reading “Love in the Time of Cholera” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
53. I tried downhill skiing when I was 15 and didn’t like it.

73. I had my first kiss when I was 15.
74. I like to read sex advice columns.
75. I pay attention to little “coincidences” in life.
76. I think about the future a lot.
77. I like working in publishing.
78. I think people who are intimidated by computers are moronic.
79. I appreciate good satire.
80. I miss using the part of my brain I used most in university.
81. I think George Bush is a cowboy.
82. I think Jean Chretien sounds terribly uneducated.
83. I am jealous of people who get to travel a lot.
84. I am planning on calling in sick tomorrow.
85. I am afraid of spiders.
86. When my co-workers want to e-mail me all they have to type in the “To” field is “ahol”.
87. My last serious boyfriend sometimes reminded me of my dad.
88. I’ve never ridden a motorcycle.
89. I try hard not to make generalizations about groups of people.
90. I think organized religion fails people.
91. I like to climb trees.
92. I think it’s strange how in the States all universities seem to be referred to as “college”.
93. I am grateful to be a Canadian, even though I did nothing to affect becoming one.
94. I think joining fraternities or sororities is a great ways to buy friends.
95. The last time I cried was September 11, 2002.
96. I’m not very good at feigning interest in what I think are boring stories.
97. My work day ends at 4:50 pm.
98. I miss The Muppet Show.
99. I think it would be cool to move from Brooklyn Avenue into Brooklyn, New York.
100. Sometimes there’s no substituting another word for “fuck”.
