Aimee Fans Unite

On Friday night S, M, saxman and I went to the Palais Royale to see Aimee Mann perform. The show wasn’t even sold out, which I couldn’t believe, because Aimee is just awesome. We had great spots in the hall, probably about twenty feet from the stage, and luckily there wasn’t anyone really tall standing in front of me, so I had a great view of Aimee at the microphone. She opened with “The Moth” from her latest album, “Lost in Space“. She played two encores, as well. I heard all of the songs I wanted to hear her play live except for one, and the quality of the music was outstanding. Here is an article from Toronto’s NOW magazine about her. If you aren’t sure who Aimee is, she did the music for the film Magnolia and won a grammy for her efforts. Here is an article from the Toronto Star about her. Click here for her official site.
