The Leafs were humiliated by a 6-1 loss to Philly tonight. Ah well, at least they forced the 7th game. Okay, enough hockey talk. You’ll all be glad to know I won’t talk about the Leafs again until October, when the next season gets under way.
My buddy Jim from work came over to watch the game with me, so at least I wasn’t sitting there reliving hockey memories of the bf. We watched a lot of Leaf games together. For Christmas I bought him a puck signed by Leafs captain Mats Sundin. Things with my new job are continuing well. I have somehow managed to make a good impression on my boss (hereafter referred to as “SR”). I’ve got lots to read and learn, and it’s very refreshing to be out of cubicle-land. The other thing that’s been going on with me is the potential need to move. I really hope I don’t have to…my roommate and I have come up with a plan that will work if she gets a summer job at Sick Kids (Hospital for Sick Children) here in Toronto. Hopefully SARS will be gone by then, of course. But for the summer months, when she’s only here through the week she’ll pay 1/3 of the rent and I’ll pay 2/3 while we continue to split the gas bill. Then in the fall when she returns to school and lives here full-time, we’ll resume a 50/50 rent split and she will pay me back by paying the gas bill until the following May. Pretty good deal, huh? Saves me having to pay first and last on a new place, not to mention having to pack and physically move. I’m just trying to stay busy and not to spend too much time alone. That’s when my mind really starts to wander…
