Today I went to the ACC for my orientation session. It was pretty typical stuff, and having been through Disney’s Traditions training program, mostly repetitive, in terms of appearance requirements, etc. But we got to go on a tour and I acted like a cheesy tourist and took a few pictures in Leafs territory. We saw where Coach’s Corner is filmed, and it’s just a little tiny glassed-in room on the platinum level, no bigger than my bedroom. Also saw the Raptor’s practice court, where there were two players stretching, but I don’t know who they were. Had ID photo badge made up. It reads, “Food and Beverage Supervisor”. Picked up uniforms, very similar to what I wore as a member of the Beverage Team on the Wonder: black pants, black shirt with Leaf/Raptor/ACC logo embroidered on the pocket, black shoes. Plus I get to carry a radio on shift. Cool! Other perks include advance ticket sales and free admission to a lot of tourist-y things around the city, like the CN Tower, Hockey Hall of Fame, Second City discount, etc. My first shadowing shift is on Saturday during the Toronto Benefit Concert.
