Gilmour Night in Canada

030908_gilmour_pic_250.jpg Tonight I got to work on the Platinum level at the ACC. This is at the same level as the ice surface. A lot of the corporate boxes are down there, and a lot of money is spent by rich fans. You know when you’re watching a hockey game on television, and you can see in the “corners” of the arena, there are wide blank areas, where sometimes people are standing watching…well that’s where I got to hang out for part of tonight. Doug Gilmour was honoured tonight at the ACC since he is retiring from the game. It was awesome! It was really exciting to be down there, right near the ice, fifty feet away from the team on the ice. While I saw some plays on the closed circuit televisions downstairs there, I could hear the players being slammed into the boards right behind me. This is the coolest job I’ve ever had.
