It’s no secret that I’ve been wanting to visit New York City for years now, probably since I was about 18 years old. The thought has recently bordered on obsession with me. I carry my Lonely Planet New York book on the streetcar. Yesterday I checked the Viarail website and I can get a train ticket into Manhattan for $232.00 Canadian this spring. So I have resolved to do it. I think this will be the motivation I need to save up. If I get an income tax refund in April or May, then that will be perfect timing for a little holiday for myself into the Big Apple. (My Mom just got me a subscription to New York Magazine for my birthday.)
