Heather got me a book for Christmas this year called “Stitch ‘n Bitch” so now I’m learning to knit. I just got a pair of size 8 needles and some cream coloured wool, which I thought would be easiest to work with at first, and got started.
I already learned how to crochet, but have yet to make anything more complicated than a fluffy, purple scarf with a fringe (which I donated to the craft raffle at work…some co-worker has made it her own).
There are some really cool projects out there, but I really need to keep practicing. So far I can do the knit stitch and purl stitch. What I want to do is successfully create a swatch of each. Then I plan to move on to stockinette stitch, which is really just a combination of knit and purl. I need to get a good light to work under, though, because the eye strain has been giving me the occasional headache.
P.S. Phoebe is now finally wandering around downstairs, after I brought her down into the dining room. Mazda’s in the basement, so the coast is clear for now. I can hear her little toenails clicking on the laminate floor. Yay, Phoebes!
