Kids

There sure are a lot of kids in our neighbourhood. It must be a lot like the neighbourhood I grew up in. Except now I’m one of the “grown-ups”. We were always outside playing in the summer. There was one of those green electrical stations in front of a house a couple of doors down, and that became our meeting place. As in, “Meet you at the green box.” Usually we just played in someone’s back yard.

One of the houses behind us has a trampoline in the back yard. It’s constantly filled with jumping kids. They’re pretty loud. I don’t want to sound cranky, but I really hope they aren’t out there every single day this summer. Last weekend they were playing some music fairly loud. It was Blink 182 or something equally annoying. I think once it gets super hot and humid, they’ll prefer to go inside where it’s cooler and play vids or something. I guess I’ll have to wait and see. I just want to be able to spend some tranquil time in my own yard in the garden.
