Phase I involved the upstairs of the house. Now, moving into autumn, phase II is in effect! Graham’s friend Andy came over a few nights ago and they moved most of the wall unit into the basement. I say “most of” because the centre part, the part that holds the television and hence the real “guts” of the wall unit, didn’t fit down. Everything else did, though.
Today, Graham’s (and soon to be my) brother-in-law Jamie is over to help him move the couch down. It wouldn’t fit properly, either, so they resorted to cutting two holes in the drywall in the stairwell. Fun for them! Power tools at work. No big deal…that stairwell is part of phase III anyway. The important thing is getting the rec room furniture into the rec room!
This means that the living and dining room will be freshly painted in time for Thanksgiving dinner here on October 9th (touch wood).
Graham’s Mum let us know a few nights ago that her generous wedding gift to us will be some new livingroom furniture. I’ve never owned new furniture before. The livingroom will be so cozy and beautiful when it is all finished eventually. I hope to get the old upright piano from Dad’s over here at some point, too.
