Saturday night Dad & Heather hosted a lovely engagement party for us at their house. They got a beautiful chocolate cake with vanilla filling for us and Dad made a champagne toast to Graham and I. Mom also had a few tearful words to say. She felt she needed to apologize later on but I told her that her words were lovely and sincere and meaningful and that everyone cries at weddings so she had nothing to apologize for. Heather also made a little toast and said I was her surrogate daughter and that there was a test for Graham to prove he really loved me. She had bought this funny little gag glass cylinder thing at the dollar store that would bubble up when you grasp it (something to do with the temperature of your hands). Of course it worked!

We received some great gifts, too, many of which had come directly from our registry (already!). I honestly was not expecting gifts so soon.
We haven’t nailed down too many wedding details yet. Here’s what has been decided:
Our ceremony will be taking place at Crooked Creek (Pickering) at 3:30 pm.
I will be arriving at the ceremony in Dad’s 1969 Cougar.
Our wedding party has been decided and all have been asked to be part of the day except for one of my bridesmaids (who doesn’t visit this blog).
