Your Thanksgiving Hosts

Graham and I are hosting Thanksgiving at our house for everyone. And I mean everyone. When he suggested it in mid-August, it was because he knew we’d be recently engaged by then, and thought it would be a good chance for our families to spend some time together. Including us, there will be either 15 or 16 people here for dinner on Sunday. At least I had the brains to make it a potluck!

We’re doing the turkey (and of course, the stuffing), sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce. I’m also going to make some cornbread. My mom is coming over early to help me get set up and to do the potatoes. She’s also bringing a bunch of other stuff I don’t have like an electric knife and a beater. Graham’s mum is bringing a vegetable dish and some munchies to start. Elaine’s bringing ham. Heather’s bringing a pumpkin pie and a lemon merengue pie and a couple of bottles of wine. Matt & Karlie are bringing the rolls. So I think it’s all covered!

I bought some little cheap juice glasses at the Dollarama today for the table, and wine glasses last week. We have enough dishes, although they won’t all be matching. Oh well!

I really do hope the weather is nice so that we can spend some time outside. The forecast calls for sun and a high of 17 degrees. Maybe we can set up the badminton net in the back yard. I’m especially glad for my Gramma to see where I live, since she didn’t get to see my place in Toronto.

Wish us luck!
