The house is so quiet this time of day. I’m almost ready for work, and should hurry up and make some coffee (I’ve been delinquent the last few days) but i’m just enjoying a few moments of peace before the day gets started.
Yesterday when I left work I smelled autumn for the first time this year, oddly enough, from the parking garage. There is a stand of trees running down the side of one of the parking lot pads and a breeze blew the scent of the yellowing leaves my way. It smelled wonderful.
This weekend is Thanksgiving. Saturday we’ll be at my mom’s, Sunday at my dad’s. We’ll do the dinner thing at Graham’s mum’s another weekend as his sister’s family is moving in with his mum this weekend and everything will be very hectic. I’m glad, though. It’s a lot to do in one long weekend, so dividing up the visits decrerases the “hecticness” of it all.
Yesterday morning there was frost on the windshield. That means this weekend I’ll have to try and get the garden cleaned up before it gets really cold. I was wishing for mittens yesterday morning.
