I’m still going to finish my real estate licence, but Graham and I were talking this morning…well, he was talking. I had my little quiver-voice and basically just tried to stay composed while I told him how crappy I felt about not having very much money and not being able to hold up my end of this bargain we call “joint finances”. Freelance work isn’t very consistent and just isn’t cutting it. So the revised plan is for me to get my provisional licence, but in the meantime, to pursue full-time employment. I’ll get a full-time job again (insert the sound of angels trumpeting from the heavens) and work real estate on the side evenings and weekends. Maybe there will eventually be enough business to make the transition to full-time real estate eventually, but the combined up-front costs involved to start up a real estate career are just shy of crazy. I have no money for anything right now except the bare essentials, and that just plain sucks. This is a good compromise.
I’ve put the feelers out to my friends in the publishing world, who have been very supportive and pointed me toward some specific opportunities. Thank you, friends in the publishing world!
(P.S. If you’re thinking about starting up a website, I’ve posted a link in the sidebar to Bluehost, who hosts my site. I like them because the day after I signed up for a year of hosting, I got a phone call from them asking if I’d received their welcome e-mail and if I needed any help. Totally professional. And if you click my link to sign up, I earn a few bucks. Everybody wins.)

Well, we have an opening for an editor … and I’m pretty involved in the hiring process … so …
Do you really think the company would rehire me again? I e-mailed you. Let’s chat.
Expect a call…
