This exchange took place in the car last night, on our way home from Home Depot.
Graham: Do very many people “poke you” on Facebook?
Me: No, not really. Most people will write a message.
Graham: This guy from high school “poked me” today. Isn’t that kind of weird?
Me: Nah…isn’t it just like a way to say hello, I’m here, without writing a whole message? Why don’t you poke him back?
Graham: I don’t want him thinking I’m gay.*
*Graham is in no way homophobic and this exchange probably had him thinking about Lavalife and how “smiling” at girls there reminded him of “poking” them on Facebook.
