Yesterday turned out to be a lovely day, due in no small part to those three drinks I had in the afternoon. I started at noon with a pre-mixed Bloody Caesar (a cocktail that is difficult to find in Florida, I’ve learned, but a real staple of mixed drinks here in Canada) and moved on to the more impressive Blackthorn Cider king-can. Then another.
Read my book, puttered in the garden, then Mom and I just sat in the back yard talking. And when I’ve had two king-cans of cider I can talk. Topics we covered include the seventh grade, long-lost, inexplicably missing friends, boring plants, alcoholism, long-lost but understandably missing family members (Hi, Uncle Albert!), the upcoming wedding of my brother, and the upcoming birthday of my brother, to name just a few.
Long weekends ROCK.
