This morning at the joyful hour of six o’clock Graham and I were ripped from our peaceful slumber by the howling/screaming/growling of cats. In my sleepy stupor I thought for a minute that Farley was growling through the window in the living room downstairs at the orange cat that sometimes comes into our back yard. Then I realized it was a lot closer.
Out in the hallway my mom’s cat, Grace was in hand-to-hand combat with Farley. Grace was scared. Farley was pissed. Grace ran into our bedroom and Farley was in the spare room, where he sleeps after we boot his ass out of our room for “cha-cha-cha-ing” on one of our chests, so I just shut him in there for the time being. Grace was under our bed, haven for wayward cats, so I shut her in that room and let Far back out.
I went downstairs to tell Mom not to worry if she couldn’t find Grace when she got up because she was under our bed. Little sneaky thing must check the door at the top of the basement stairs at night. Mom thinks she has to tip-toe everywhere so when she gets up to use the bathroom on the main floor she closes the door behind her really quietly. It must not have shut completely.
I went back to bed but every time I almost fell asleep Grace would venture out from under the bed, making little short squeaky meows. Then she started rattling the bedroom door.

Cats are crazy.
Needless to say, a cat fight is NOT a peaceful way to start the day…
Oh, and Tamara and Carys had their baby! Let me be the first to throw the baby’s name out onto the Internet. On Wednesday night, Ellis Kate Freeman was born at 10:04 pm. There, she’s not even a week old yet, but she’s officially searchable.

I’m heading to Guelph this afternoon to see the little possum. Snuggly baby pics to follow.
Good lord! I had no idea that you could have an epidural not take. What a nightmare!
Good God. Give that woman a medal. Screw the medal give her a million bucks. That sucks. Wish them well and I know even though it totally sucked the baby will make it all worthwhile.
Reason #12992 why I am never having children!!!!!
GAH! Why is it every time I hear something about childbirth, it’s some new and horrifying fact?
