Graham and I went to my friend Corrie’s wedding on Saturday. The wedding and reception were absolutely beautiful, but the trip adventure that surrounded the blessed event was seriously bullshit.
For example, Google maps assured me, promised, even, that there was a campground/trailer park within 6 minutes of the reception site. However, once we arrived to the area we discovered it was in fact about an hour away. Bullshit.
We were the high quality guests who had to crank up our trailer in the church parking lot so we could change into our wedding duds, then collapse it again. Bullshit.
I managed to ask the bride, inappropriately enough, if she thought her parents would mind us parking the trailer in their driveway. (I wouldn’t have dared, but just the day before this sweet, thoughtful person e-mailed us specifically to see if we needed a place to stay.) She assured me this would be no problem at all, and then I crawled away with my tail between my legs. Horrible wedding faux pas. Total bullshit.
I knew the road but I didn’t have the house number for her mom & dad’s house so we had to call a friend I trusted back home to hack into my e-mail account and search for the house number. Bullshit, eh?
Finally found the house, an ATM, some Tylenol, and ultimately the reception site, where we settled into the gorgeous tent for a drink.
Seeing Graham at that bar made me fall in love with him just a little bit more.
There were green apples on the tables, one at each plate.
I thought it would be funny to take a picture of Graham eating his apple to show the bride later just how much we appreciated the snack and ended up with this shot…
…which made me pee my pants laughing. See the tears?
Ahahahahaha. This is more what I had in mind.
Congratulations, Corrie and Dan!

But it was open bar, right? Right? That must have made it aaaallll worth it.
What a pretty bride.
And I am sure they love you even if you do nutty white trash things like changing in a camper in the parking lot. It could have been worse. You could have worn what you had on.
Fun! You guys are the best wedding guests ever. But you redeem yourselves with that lovely shot you took of the happy couple. Lovely!
You and Graham are fun people. I hope we’re seated at the same table sometime soon. Ummmm, apples.
