Thursday afternoon nap.

A couple of months ago Graham started working as a carpenter’s apprentice, having to get up at 4:30 in the morning. By Thursday afternoon, his body sort of goes into shut-down mode, and he goes into what we call a “smoosh”. A “smoosh” is one of those naps during which you “smoosh” your face into your pillow, and you wake up with lines all over your face from the pillowcase. If I emerge from the bedroom, having napped hard for a few hours, pillowcase lines down the side of my face, Graham might say, “Did you have a good smoosh?”

Behold! The bizarre elbows-in-the-air sleep position. His left elbow is not leaning against the back of the couch, it’s just…up there, in the air, where, if we were in bed, it would be ready to come crashing down into my eye.

Thursday afternoon nap.

Farley follows suit.

    Totally stealing smoosh.
Cats are so much cooler than dogs.
    Especially your neighbors dog.

My exBF used to do the elbow in my eye thing ALL THE TIME. It was such a nasty shock!

Those two photos back-to-back were the best laugh I’ve had ALL day.

Hilarious! I guess pets do really resemble their owners, huh?

I love ’smoosh.’ God, I miss smooshing.
