Hallowe’en bits and pieces.

I’m re-tooling my whole NaBloPoMo “theme”. See…I just can’t write a post about being a one-year-old. And filling each day with photos feels like cheating. So the month will be peppered with retrospective posts, but I’ll fill in the blanks with other crap, like this Hallowe’en recap, a day late.

On Wednesday night I went over to Koll‘s after Graham came home, but he was too pooped to come with me. I can’t blame the guy, really, since he gets up at 4 am through the week. By the middle of the week, he’s pretty much done. I went around the block with Kolleen and the twinks, who were dressed up as Spiderman and a pirate who at times also looked like a cowboy. Along the route, we saw Santa Claus, so I told the boys they should go and tell Santa what they want for Christmas. You know, get in there before the real Christmas season makes Santa too busy. They didn’t buy it.

As you can see, Spiderman was completely into his role, while Captain Jack had yet to really immerse himself.

Spiderman gets into it.

More cuteness…I’m pleased to report that the little hat I made for Ellis fit her perfectly. And in case you’re wondering, yes, seeing Graham sitting with a cute little baby girl did make my uterus hurt just a little tiny bit. That’s a spider plant baby hovering over her head.

And in keeping with the nostalgia theme for this month here at Assertagirl, I leave you with this picture of my brother and I dressed up for Hallowe’en around 1985 or so. I think I was in about grade three here. Obviously Matt was in the middle of his ungodly He-Man obsession (I love the winter jacket under his costume). Dad got into the act, too.

And finally, Matt has posted a great playlist for you to download over on his blog. He calls it The Official Autumn Mix, and it features the likes of Wilco and Elliott Smith. Go on over and grab it for yourself.
