Season for Gratitude (4)

This week I am grateful for…

…the fact that it hasn’t yet snowed here, although it might over the weekend. The Buffalo area had snow warnings marching across the bottom of the television screen last night.

…Sloppy Joes. Is there a more perfect comfort food?

…the fact that I do not currently have a UTI, which I was worried about having this weekend.

…some positive news that I received from work yesterday that allows us to consider some cool options right now.

…the fact my good friend is going to be a mom again, which means I get to be an honourary aunt again.

“Now, this:” (said in my best news announcer voice)

This weekend we were supposed to head to Michigan. You know, take advantage of how wildly high the Canadian dollar has been lately. I could almost smell the Brown Sugar & Fig bath stuff from Bath & Body Works. I was just feeling super happy that I was going to get to go three whole days without cooking dinner.

Then Graham remembered that he had committed weeks ago to going to a hockey game tonight. Not even an NHL game, just an OHL game. And Michigan friend will be much more understanding than local friend, so I guess we’ll be going to Michigan another weekend. I don’t mind that much, really. Our schedules are very flexible. It’s just that I had booked Friday off from work. And now Graham will have a late night out and I have no plans.

Anybody Toronto area bloggers want to have an impromptu get-together Friday night? Anybody? I’d be glad to come into the city for an evening.
