I feel like I was a bit of a Scrooge the other day with my post about that Merry Christmas flyer.

When I got to work yesterday, Ainsley told me that there was a big storm heading our way, the first winter snow warning of the season. I stopped off at Michael’s on my way home from work and bought a couple of scented candles, on sale (2 for $9!). They were all out of the green “Merry Christmas” scented ones, but I got a gingerbread and an eggnog scented candle. Neither of them smell exactly like they’re supposed to, but still smell very nice. I put on the Charlie Brown Christmas CD while I made dinner (the best holiday CD there is in the entire universe, if you don’t have it you must go out and get it TODAY) and put up a few decorations while I waited for Graham to get home. Not a ton, but just enough to make today’s snowfall tolerable.

Farley was ecstatic, and immediately made it his mission in life to remove all of the little balls from the tree.  Isn’t it funny how the animals forget that we did this exact same thing a year ago?

In the front window, this tealight lamp looks very pretty when it’s lit.

Little Santa, hanging on for dear life at the top of our little, artificial tree. We’ll get a real tree for the living room in a couple of weeks.

I used to put this little tree in my cubicle when I worked in the office. Now it’s tucked into the corner on the kitchen counter.

My favourite spot in this house at holiday time, the banister. I want to get some lights for this garland.
