So excited I might throw up a little.

Fourteen days, people! That’s two weeks. Are you ready? Don’t you hate it when you’re waiting for an elevator or for the office kettle to boil, and a co-worker decides he or she must fill the awkward silence with idle chit chat consisting of the question, “So, are you ready for Christmas?” Is it Christmas Eve yet? No? Then no, of course I’m not ready.

I’m going to be in Toronto for a couple of days (yay!) hanging out with some fellow bloggers this evening and then entertaining another fellow blogger for a couple of days and I’m so excited that this person is coming all the way to Toronto to visit with me that I can’t even tell you who it is in case the ice and snow in this afternoon’s forecast jinxes everything and prevents her plane from landing. (What a kick-ass run-on sentence that was.)

I have a few more Christmas presents to buy, and I’m hoping to pick up a few things in the city because I have to send a package out to Calgary, and I’m really not sure two weeks is going to cut it.

This afternoon some of the work @ home editors are getting together to gorge ourselves at a Chinese buffet, and then while I’m killing time before heading to the airport I’m going to try to find something festive-fabulous to wear out tonight. I’ll be charging whatever I buy, and not feeling an iota of guilt because I never buy new clothes for myself. Honestly. I don’t remember the last time I bought something new to wear from a store the name of which didn’t start with the word “Value” or “Goodwill”. Oh wait, yes I do, and it was a grocery store. So not chic.

(My next post is up at BlogHers ACT Canada, “A letter of congratulations.” Kudos to Mountain Equipment Co-op for pulling plastic products containing Bisphenol A from their shelves!)

Bossy is throwing up a little too – but mostly because she is wildly unprepared and now having to spend extra money for Holiday Shipping.

I am NOT ready. You’re freaking me out!!

  3. I have never been less ready for Christmas – it’s BAD. It was great meeting you last night. I really enjoyed chatting.

I have not done one thing beyond decorate my cubicle at work, and I think that is where I will stand. I may do a giving tree thing, but other than that, my family doesn’t exchange gifts, so I think it will be pretty low-key.
