I told Graham about how I’d managed to wrangle up some roomies for the trip to San Francisco, and his response was, “Holy crap, the conference is only two days? You gotta stay longer.”
Trying to get me out of the house, eh? Do I sense PokerFest 2008 is in the works?
He has a good point, actually. It’s a long way to fly for just two or three days. Fortunately a good friend of mine lives in Palo Alto, which, according to Google maps is a mere 40 minute drive away, and a perfect destination for extending my visit to the sunny State of California. He assures me that, “The Monterey Bay Aquarium is a haven for geeks like us. And of course, there is always hiking through the hills and mountains, and visiting wine country, and maybe even visiting the garden that I work in. Interested in any of those?”
Um, YEAH. It all sounds right up my alley. I can’t wait. You should know I am also up for any post-BlogHer San Francisco slumber party action. And now I will cease all discussion of this trip until it’s a reasonable length of time prior to be going on like this. It’s just…well, I don’t get away much. So nyah.

If I didn’t have that job thing in the way, I would be all for staying longer. This is the first time that this has happened, I can’t come all that early or stay later. It sucks.
