I can’t believe Parvati won Survivor. Amanda totally should have won.
Mother’s Day was good. I took my mom to Swiss Chalet for supper (her choice) while Graham visited with his mum. Last night I told Graham that I hoped in the future we could both see each other’s moms together for Mother’s Day. For me, Mother’s Day is about honouring all the mothers in your life, including mother-in-laws. I’m not sure Graham sees it that way.
My good friend Vicki had her second baby on her birthday, last Tuesday. Nice birthday gift! She and her husband (mostly her husband) were hoping for a baby boy, and they didn’t know the sex of the baby before he was born. Vicki went into labour around four in the morning, had the baby around 11:30, and was home by two o’clock the next day. Wow. I visited them at their home when baby Erik was just two days old, but I didn’t get to hold him because he was sleeping when I arrived, and then Vicki was nursing when it was time to leave. He’s a cute little thing, with his tiny little wiener legs.
My step-brother left yesterday to drive across the country to his new place out in Victoria, B.C. He’s had a rough year or so, and as his dad said at his going away party, “It takes a strong person to acknowledge that he needs to make a change in his life, and an even braver one to make that change.” We’re all so proud of him and wish him all kinds of success.
My new post is up at BlogHers ACT Canada. This week I’ve written about Composting for Beginners, in an effort to continue our May focus on greener gardening. Feel free to head on over and check it out!
I really wanted Amanda to win too. I thought Ozzy was going to propose marriage to her on the show. That was sweet. I agree with you on the MIL subject too. I had the best MIL in the world. See if you can get Graham to agree to a dinner together next year. Congrats to your friend Vicki and her family. Hope you have a great week!
