Highlights.

Highlights of BlogHer ’08 so far:

Very dry gin martinis in the hotel lobby bar.

Meeting awesome bloggers I’ve been reading for years.

Giving and receiving sincere, squishy hugs.

Roast beef sandwiches at a dive called “Lefty O’Doul’s” at midnight.

Handing out Canadian chocolate bars (Deb and Julie, I still have Flakes and Smarties for you).

Learning that boobs can project breast milk across a room (um, WHAT?).

Champage on the 30th floor of the Westin.

Nipple rings revealed!

Choosing to bond with friends in a hotel room rather than cabbing it out to another noisy party.

Getting the “nice face discount” at the bar last night.

Wrangling the microphone for a bazillion mommybloggers, all of whom want to have their say, and have it now.

Listening to my friends talk tenderly and so eloquently about motherhood that my eyes welled up with tears.

Next up: Breakfast, actually making an attempt to leave the hotel, and more girl bonding.

      Great post, Amy — very vivid. I’m sorry that Kyla and I had to break it to you like that about the breastmilk, but, you know, we’re all about keepin’ it real. ;-) And that martini and the free ‘greentini’ (thanks to your nice face!) totally cut my filter. Whoops.

      We ended up in Lefty O’Douls too, but it was almost closing time and they’d turned on the ugly lights. No way I was eating there.
