The Work-at-Home Closet

One of my favourite things to do on the internet is to browse a Flickr group called The Working Closet.  I love to see what people are wearing to work, especially when those people are so friggin’ well put together (I’m looking at you, Ali).

I wanted to play too, but I don’t really…well, go to work.  At least not in the traditional sense.  My version of going to work is usually wandering down the hall from my bedroom in the near-dark, praying for coffee and getting down to business.  Contrary to popular belief, working from home doesn’t always mean working in one’s pajamas, although it certainly does on occasion.

This morning I started a new Flickr group, a sort of spin-off on the Working Closet, called The Work-at-Home Closet.  If you work at home, join me there!  I don’t care what you do for a living.  If you do it in your house, then I want you to join the group.  Stay-at-home mom?  That counts in my books.  Writer?  Telemarketer?  Editor?  If you do your job from the comfort of home, you belong in this group.

The rules are simple: post a photo of yourself wearing what you wear to work at home.  Do it every day, or only on occasion, whatever works for you.  Post the date, a description of your outfit, and apply the tag “work-at-home closet” to the photo, and add it to the pool.  That’s it!  Think of it as an extension of your virtual office.

Hope to see you there!

I feel like a dork taking a self-portrait in the doorway of my kitchen, but hopefully I’ll get used to it!

(P.S. I may be slightly crazy these days…I joined NaBloPoMo again this year.  See you tomorrow!)

oh my gosh? ME! i always look the same, i think.

but, truthfully, i think the working closet was set up as a way to show how you make your closet work for you. i don’t think it has to be about actually what you wear to WORK> lots of people post who are SAHM or work at home!

you definitely need to add yours to the working closet pool too!
