This morning the location of BlogHer ’09 was announced. It’s going to be in Chicago again. The conference also took place in Chicago in ’07, and I’m surprised and a little disappointed that this location was chosen once more. Don’t get me wrong…Chicago is a great city. I had a wonderful time there in ’07, and I would love to visit it again sometime. I just thought it would be cool to get to visit Portland or St. Louis or Atlanta this time around.
I don’t get to travel very often, and I tend to look at the conference as my opportunity to visit new cities around the United States (and someday, hopefully in Canada, too). So the fact that the location will be a repeat so soon is kind of a bummer.
The good thing is that Chicago is driveable (although I would consider flying this time). And maybe my San Francisco kickass roommates will want to stay together again?

Oh, thank you for mentioning it. I’ve been waiting for the annoucement. Chicago will save me a buttload of money, but I was kinda hoping for St Louis again. now, I’m off to read all about it.

I’ve never been to Chicago so I’m super excited! But I think of it the same way you do – my way to explore new places, and I can understand why you’re disappointed. Although I adore SF and I really would love to go back there.
