Yesterday when I got to the restaurant for work there were Christmas carols playing on the stereo. I stopped at the hostess stand to check my section.
“Do you like Christmas music?” the young hostess asked me.
“Sure,” I replied. “If it’s not too early to listen to it, I like Christmas music.”
“I don’t,” she said. “I’ve never liked it. I hear Christmas music and I GET ANGRY.”
I was speechless. I raised my eyebrows at her and backed away to hang up my coat.
I shudder to think what childhood trauma would cause a sixteen year old girl to hate Christmas music…What’s next? An all consuming hatred for the Tooth Fairy?

How weird!
BubTar does NOT like the Tooth Fairy. In fact, she doesn’t come here anymore. He sold his first tooth, instantly regretted it, and never sold another. Santa was able to pull some strings last year and get that first tooth back. Ahhh, the magic of Christmas. How can it make ANYONE angry?

Someone made her listen to the Chipmunks at full volume for 24 hours straight perhaps? OR one of those really bad CDs sung by all kids– apparently just some kids they dragged in off the street? Just saying…

The woman has obviously never heard of a man Bossy likes to call F*R*A*N*K**S*I*N*A*T*R*A.
Geesh.
And I’m listening to Bossy’s favorite Christmas crooner right now, so I obviously don’t understand hte young whippersnapper’s aversion to yule song!

Depends on how long she’s worked in the restaurant biz because when I worked retail years ago I wanted to set the place on fire I was so pissy with the holiday tunes being shoved down my eardrums ALL DAY LONG. Luckily, I no longer have to endure it and now can enjoy a good Christmas tune without incident.
