Painting the trim.

Is it silly to have blogging goals?  Maybe “goals” is the wrong word.  Maybe “intentions” or “aspirations” is a better word to use for what I have in mind.

So many days I have ideas for things I’d like to write about here, but then I get caught up thinking about who is (or is not) reading this space on a regular basis and I chicken out.  There are still topics that I feel I cannot and will not write about in this public space, but I’d like to get to a more honest place, as I strive to create a more complete and real picture of who I am at this point in my life.  (I’ll be 32 years old in a few weeks!)

I have no plans to take the site down or relaunch or “re-brand” myself, but I don’t know how long Assertagirl will be around in its current state.  I’m the kind of woman who likes to move the furniture around in her house to give things a fresh look and feel, and on occasion I do that here in this virtual space, too.  Nothing drastic ever happens, and maybe that is part of the problem, but I think I’ll be making some subtle changes here in 2009.  You know, hang some new artwork, get the carpets cleaned, paint the trim…

Speaking of renovations, Graham’s been working hard the last couple of days painting on the main floor of our house.  The house still features the original trim installed by the builders fifteen or so years ago, and we thought that the place would look a lot more contemporary if we painted it white.

That yellow-ish colour on the wall behind Graham is going to be painted “Classic Taupe”, and you can already see the difference the white trim is going to make!  The whole hallway area looks much wider and brighter.

Hopefully 2009 in general will be brighter than 2008 was.

As long as you don’t stop blogging, I think I’ll be okay with the changes. I’ve lost a few of my regular reads lately and I don’t want anyone else throwing in the towel!

Change can be good.. as Kyla said “…don’t stop blogging…”
    Please!!!
