I’m probably asking for trouble by using the p-word in the title of this post, but there’s no other way to describe it.
We went to Home Depot yesterday to buy the rest of the things we’d need to complete the cosmetic renovation of our front hall, including the closet. Until now, the closet has been a dumping ground for shoes, coats, cleaning products, bags, bird seed (I kid you not), keys, brooms and dust bunnies.
And now? A soothing haven for outerwear. I could stare at this photo for hours. I just wish there was a “before” shot.
Baskets hold our mittens, hats, scarves and my currently unused hand or shoulder bags.

Niiice. When my husband mentioned moving to a new, bigger apartment I said, “I’d have to re-build the closet organization things, you know.” It was the FIRST thing I did when I moved into this apartment 2.5 years ago and the best thing in the WORLD. Well, second best to having a maid who just cleaned up after us.
Ooh, I’m lusting after the shoe organization! We were going to do that sometime before Christmas… Gonna have to put that back on the to-do list, especially as 99% of the shoes are mine!
Oooooh that’s a lovely closet! So, what did you do with the bird seed? I didn’t think it was odd at all to have in the closet. BAHAHAHAHHA

ha – we call the Lee Valley hardware catalogue “tool smut” and some food tv goes by the name of “food porn” around here, so yeah – closet porn it is. We’re meant to do our closet in the spring, but it involved construction and plaster and whatnot, so we have to wait until the Bun moves into his own room. Sadly.
OMG Amy, my whole house is painted Classic Taupe (previous owner). I would’ve recognized that colour ANYWHERE.
