A redneck shower.
Recently, a wonderful friend announced some incredible news. Tanis (writer of the hilarious and touching blog, Attack of the Redneck Mommy) and her family have adopted a five year old boy! This kid has no idea what he’s in for, living in the sticks with the most famous redneck family in Canadian history, and of course he has no idea just how much love is being thrown his way all across the internet this weekend.
Kristen of Motherhood Uncensored, Katie of Mother Bumper and Catherine of Her Bad Mother have organized the shower to end all showers, and are asking Tanis’ friends to dish a little with their readers.
Since I’m not a mom yet, I can’t exactly answer this question. I came pretty close last weekend, though, when I stood outside a boot shop in Nashville, Tennessee with the Redneck Mommy herself. As we stood outside that shop, three large, drunken Texans stopped to chat. The sight of Tanis’ lovely boobs tattoos earrings must have drawn them in. One man even showed us his tiny organ guitar! As they turned to leave, the fattest of the Texans turned to his friend, pointed to us and uttered at a volume I’m sure he thought was below my range of hearing, “MILF, MILF,” pointing to each of us in turn.
My jaw went a little slack….I mean, I sure didn’t mind being called a MILF but DUDE, could I at least have a kid first?
So in answer to the question posed above, you know you’re a redneck mommy when a fat, older Texan man calls you a MILF on a Nashville, Tennessee sidewalk in front of a cowboy boot shop.
Congratulations, Tanis! My heart is filled with hope, love and pride for you and your beautiful family.

First, congrats to Redneck Mommy and her family. How cool! Now, I’m going to admit (and this is going to make my cool level drop so much) I had go google MILF. I didn’t know what it meant. I kid you not. I’m so lame, but then I was not called an MILF by fat Texans so maybe it’s okay. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
