Early morning is my favourite time of the day lately. If you knew me and my sleeping patterns in my early twenties you’d be shocked to read that. Early morning is my favourite time of the day because morning is still, peaceful, quiet, still somewhat dim but with the promise of new light in the day. I lay awake in bed with my hands spanning my swollen abdomen and feel the baby moving around inside. You see, early morning is the time of day he is the most active. His movements have shifted from feeling like random little thumps and bumps to a more complex dance, the wavering of tiny arms, legs, knees and elbows. For those fifteen or twenty minutes that we spend together first thing in the morning, in the first kind of cuddle we can have together, all is right with the world and my little growing family.

Aww, that is so sweet!
BubTar was most active in the evenings and KayTar perked up around midnight every night. If I had only known how it foretold the many, many nights I would be up with her! LOL. She is definitely a night owl.
@Kyla do you think this means that our little guy will be an early morning riser?!
I had similar morning moments. I noticed that the baby would “wake up” around the same time I did, and bump around in my belly…I also noticed that he was active again, just before bedtime.
I chalked it up to those being the times when I was most in-tune with my belly. I wasn’t walking, or standing, or concentrating on something at work. It was just me and the baby…
It was a wonderful ritual for my husband and I to lie in bed for a bit each morning and evening with our hands on my tummy trying to identify what each movement was…
