A bump shot for Gramma.

Getting the Baby's Room Ready

I’ve been trying to take more pictures of all kinds of things lately, to show my mom, who is still living in Alberta.  I know it helps her feel more connected to the experience of my being pregnant, and I think it helps me feel connected to her, too.  Every week we upload pictures into a private photosharing account to show each other.  She sends pictures of the old house she and her boyfriend are renovating in the small town where they live, and I send pictures of us getting ready for the baby, and of my garden and our renovations, too.

I asked Graham to take my picture a couple of nights ago, knowing my mom would love to see how the nursery is coming along.  He had just finished putting up the new shelving in the baby’s closet (the little dude now has more closet space than we do, with nicer shelving) and we had put his clothing back inside.  When Graham had taken the photo, he looked at the view screen on the camera and laughed, “Wow, you can REALLY see the bump in this one!”  He’s right.  I am constantly surprised by how pregnant I look in photos.  I think my mom will be, too.

Mmy latest post is up at Aiming Low.  Naturally I’ve written more about being pregnant over there, as if you aren’t getting enough of that here. Head on over this morning to read Things Not to Say to a Pregnant Woman, along with other entertaining, and not necessarily baby-related content by other awesome writers!

Kyla, that space age shelving stuff has worked MIRACLES for our front hall closet, too. Next up is our spare bedroom and our walk-in. Makes everything zen.
