Warm and loving arms.

Last night my usual method of flip-flopping from side to side throughout the night failed me. My belly is officially too heavy to just turn from my left to my right…I have to lift it, then heave it over by hand now. Either that or sit up, pivot, and flop back down onto the mattress. Any hint of gracefulness I once had about me is long gone.

Yes, we’re in the home stretch now…

I’m going to the doctor on a weekly basis from here on out and starting next week, she’ll be checking things to see if there’s any action happening. I kind of hope there is. I’d be okay with the baby coming earlier than scheduled, if the word “scheduled” even applies here. Anytime after this weekend, really, would be okay with me. This weekend our family and friends are having a baby shower for us, so any of the gear we don’t already have here in the house should be cluttering up our house by then. (It’s so great that baby stuff is available in more toned-down, neutral colours now…)

Incidentally, the whole concept of wedding and baby showers has always made me a little bit uncomfortable, especially the part about registering (which is confusing in itself). But the truth of the matter is that the people who care about us as a family seem to want to make a contribution, want to show us they care, and tradition dictates that they’ll do this by buying things for the baby. So we might as well tell them what we need, right? (DIAPERS. We’ll be needing diapers. The cost of diapers is starting to scare me.)

If we brought the baby home today, we’d be alright…we have diapers, wipes, a few receiving blankets, some little tiny socks and jammies and onesies, a place for the little dude to sleep.

And warm and loving arms that already ache to hold him.

That’s really all we need, isn’t it?

Yes, that's all you really need :) You guys sound like you're ready.

If you're near the border, diapers are cheaper in the US especially at Tar-jay.

Also, you might want to look into cloth diapers when you're a bit more settled in. It is cheaper in the long run, unless you're using a service and then its about the same as disposables.

The little dude will be very loved…I can tell. :)

As for you sleeping, try putting a pillow under your belly and between your knees. That should give you some more support and make a little bit more comfortable. And if you’d heard it all before, just ignore me. LOL! I’m sure you’re getting a lot of strange advice right now. But just wait until you’re at the stage where people start giving you hints on trying to speed up labour, you’ll hear some really weird stuff.

And to make you smile…my doctor used to say to me, “Don’t worry, you should be felling more like yourself in a few weeks.”

Yah it will be better to tell what particular items you will need to your baby in case they will buy a gift. It because to avoid the circumstances of same items or items which are not meant to be use upon by choice. it will be wise to tell them.

I hope you have a great shower! I am running around (37wks) making sure every corner of the house is cleaned and organized. My pantry could be on the cover of a magazine! ha As soon as the rest of the house is "perfect" I will be more than ready! But just in case it happens sooner, at least the little guy's room is 100% done! Good Luck!!

    Yup, that'll do it!

Diaper Depot across from RBC has GREAT diaper deals! 35 bucks for a box of 179+ diapers, and 7 bucks for 400 wipes.

That is all you really needed. We didn't register, but maybe that is more popular now? I know I appreciate it when people do so I know what to get them.
